Beautiful, wildlife deer on trails are not afraid. Great weekend. So many sites back to the clear water. But.. Extra car to haul canoe was a mile or more away. Almost impossible bike ride. Big big hill separates campers and overflow parking. Behind closed gates during evening hours.

One of the first campgrounds my family ever went to tent camp; and now it's on my short list of off the beaten path RV/travel trailer destinations. This is a gem nestled along the banks of Smith Lake. Nice asphalt pads, lantern hooks, fire pits, and either lake views or verdant woods. There is a meandering walking path along the lake and a great swim beach. Go for these things because there's not much else to do around here. That is unless you are a boater or you consider yourself an armadillo watcher.
