A good sign of the times is the news that AAA is listening to requests to add information about green hotels. I started listing green hotels in 2004 and now AAA will mention them in their 2010 print guides. They will list properties that are AAA approved and have been certified through either government or [...] When you book your travel, one thing that never really comes up is how much time do you need between flights at your connecting airport. I finished driving from the southwest corner to the northeast corner of Kansas. 600 miles and ten hours later, I hadn’t found a single independent place to eat lunch or dinner. Chains were still running in the towns I went through but the mom and pop places were closed down, for sale or empty. Nothing. [...] Fly the lighter skies right now and enjoy it while it lasts. You can still get out there for one last camping trip amongst turning leaves. A US Department of Education study announced that children who travel over summer break did better in reading, math and their general knowledge than those who did not. If you travel, you have to spend time at the airport. Either you are through security a bit early or your connections allow for some time to wander an airport in another city. It doesn’t have to be a waste of time however. You can be productive or actually have fun. The tire date code always starts with the letters DOT and ends with a 3 or 4 digit number. The first two numbers indicate the week of the year. 52 weeks in a year so that is the max. Hyatt hotel is saving a ton of money on housekeeping these days. They fired staff and replaced them with outsourced staffing at less than half the cost. I haven’t seen room rates drop any however. |
