I guess they are closing the parks now because people are not using them - the price is too high. A philandering body builder/actor for governor sure hasn't helped things. Run by state employees that get paid by the money they bring in from the parks. Most Ranger and people that work in these parks are not here for the money but the love for the land and nature. Like most politico's he is a puppet...a big puppet! California's problem is the politicians, it is their salaries and benefit packages/pensions that are causing the glut on our economy! I am sick of these self serving, lying, two-faced crooks! Cut their salaries, dissolve their benefit packages, take away their special social security (witch they have structured to be way more secure than ours!) and put them on the same SS system all of the rest of us are on. It is beyond reason how they blatantly get away with flipping us all off by flaunting the superior life style that we the people continue to fund! Compound that by the thousands of others who do the same and it will be felt severely by the businesses who count on that money coming in from the outside. They never go after the fat cats on top. They have people who serve on various boards who work one or two days a year and get paid over 100,000 dollars. Their pentions alone will bank rupt us.
