I’m probably a train nut by most standards as I have taken the train for as much as five days straight, just enjoying the experience and scenery. As a practical mode of transportation to get from one place to another, the most I’ve done is about eight hours from Sicily to Rome in Italy. That train route took me through parts of Italy that I and most others just wouldn’t see any other way. It was like seeing a secret part of the country.

When traveling by train you can leave the navigating up to somebody else. This is not the case when you decide to take a trip by automobile. When driving, you will be so obsessed with staying safe and making the right turns that you never see what is going on around you. Let the conductor do his job while you relax and enjoy the trip.
