Good Advice, and well-written.

As a constant traveler for business and for pleasure, as well as a very generous tipper, I would say that I simply don't go anywhere that has mandatory valet, ever. Not ever. Even if I have reservations at a swanky restaurant or club, and arrive to find it is mandatory valet, I will cancel my reservations and make alternate plans, and inform the establishment why. It is highly offensive to be held hostage in this manner. I suppose if a person travels infrequently it might seem to be the 'height of luxury' to have valet parking, but if you are subjected to 200+ hotel stays per year and 300+ restaurant visits per year, it wears rather thin.
