		JEROME GRAND HOTEL Jerome Grand Hotel Ghost Story 200 Hill St., Jerome, AZ 86331 (928) 634-8200 Once the United Verde Hospital when it was built in 1926, it closed in 1950 and was empty until 1997. After being the Grand Hotel for a while, the ghost stories filled the rooms. Sounds of labored breathing and coughing is heard coming from empty rooms. Ghostly lights fill empty rooms. Female apparitions include a nurse with a clipboard and another who died in childbirth. A ghostly child has been seen running in the bar area late into the night.
