Murphys Historic Hotel and Lodge Ghost Story

Opened in 1856, the Murphys hotel was on the stage route from Milton to Calaveras Big Tree. Many guests have reported feeling the presence of a ghost upon entry. The story is that a bookkeeper was shot and thrown off a balcony. He still may wander the second floor.
