HOTEL COLORADO
Hotel Colorado Ghost Story526 Pine Street, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 (970) 945-6511Built in 1891, the Hotel Colorado was a luxurious stop that was modeled after the 16th century Villa de Medici in Italy. During World War II, the hotel was used as a naval hospital. Today, it is serving normal hotel guests and some that never leave. It's a busy hotel between 2-4 a.m. with the elevator moving from floor to floor, the smell of cigars in the lobby, perfume and dish sounds in the Devereaux Dining Room. A young girl may be seen playing with a ball around the hotel. A femal ghost may watch over sleeping male guests. During it's days as a naval hospital, a chamber maid was caught in an affair and murdered. Her screams may still be heard. The room in which she died is so active that it can't be rented any longer.
