For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: Nice camp on a big base. For now have to use main Maxwell blvd gate due to construction and drive a detour around flight line. Not a scenic park and there is train noise as well as big street lights that shine into several sites. No WiFi. Office had very limited hours. Powered sites are reasonably priced and nice to have a $10 dry camp option. The camp has a large picnic area and a base lake. Showers clean and well kept, nice to have shower, toilet and sink all in one room.

Bill Cook

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: Nice Fam Camp with full hook ups. Clean bathrooms and easy access to PX / Commissary. Not a "scenic" park, but fair price, helpful manager, and close to downtown Montgomery. Some gate closures / one way traffic throughout the day, but good briefing by staff. Next to the runway, but only one resident flying unit here, so limited chance to experience the sound of freedom!

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: Great campground has Eglin beat all day long. Cleaner, staff much friendlier. Next winter will be my Campground of choice

Melody

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: This is a 5-star campground. We had full hookups and an excellent wifi connection. Washers and dryers were only .75 cents. Everything was neat and clean if not a little on the aged side. The campground is at the end of the base next to the airfield that had no planes flying. Were all the pilots on spring break? The base is close to the City of Montgomery where so many historical events took place.

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: Nice stay...easy to get to once through the main gate. Stayed one night on the weekend. Self check in so couldn't be easier. Park was full so I was glad to get a spot with last minute reservation. Nice level pads, all pull thru sites. Bath rooms at our end were very clean and new, all had a shower in each individual bathroom. Nice open area for pets. Picnic table and grill at each site. Must be a number of students staying long term resulting in the full park...quiet. Laundry with a large ice machine. Wife and I relaxed in a swing by the lake. Good wifi...no cable but was able to get a number of channels on the antenna. Short drive to the BX and commissary...drove right by it coming in. Will try to stay here anytime I'm in the area. For me...great deal for $20 (full hookup).

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: Stayed one night at Maxwell FamCamp. Easy check in with pleasant staff. Believe we were site 50, nice long pull through spot. Utilities all together although very close to the pad. Be sure you pull forward enough if you have slide outs. Felt kinda odd pulling most of the way through the concrete pad and my truck stuck out in the drive until we unhooked, but no issues otherwise. Very new shower and laundry facilities as the south end of camp, towards the dog park (an old ball field that is completely fenced with benches, very nice). The other facilities are a little dated though. Our closest bath/laundry facility had a ramp walk with rotted planks; my foot nearly went through one. One of the speed queen dryers accepted the quarters (75 cents) but never came on; there was no "out of order" sign. But otherwise, it was quiet, considering how many spaces and folks are here. Was nearly full, but mostly a pleasant experience. We stayed in a TT.
