For Lake Catherine State Park: Stayed 4 nights, beautiful CG, we have a 29’ TT , we stayed in site 47 with a lake view. Plenty of walking trails and mini-fishing piers close by. Definitely kid friendly and dog friendly park. It may have been a bit tight for some big rigs but that didn’t deter most people. 15 Minutes to Hot Springs, good roads. Park is well maintained and comes with full hookups. There is a power plant across the lake, we came in late march and it was quiet.

For Lake Catherine State Park: Not for big rigs! They have poured new asphalt on top of old asphalt over and over again without giving consideration to the inclines they are creating. At first we tried to pull in to the B loop, our fifth wheel came in contact with our tailgate crushing it. Finally get backed up and turned around. Go to the C loop and everything is fine. I give it 2 stars because the sites are huge. We go to leave and again they’ve created a huge bump of asphalt at the exit. We realize the bottom of our rig is scraping the ground, manage to back up with only minor damage to the generator exhaust pipe. After backing up we could see in the asphalt where numerous rigs have done this before us, I'm sure they’ll add some on top and make it worse. Took us an hour to get turned around because it’s so tight, and finally exited going against traffic the way we came. If you have to stay here and you’re bigger than 40 feet and want to avoid damage, only stay in Loop C and exit through the entrance.

For Lake Catherine State Park: Loved this park and loved our visit in Arkansas! We first stayed at a KOA close to hot springs, then stayed here for the next 4 nights. Gorgeous trails, falls and lakes. It was wet and muggy when we visited in early may but we still had a great time. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. Our site was large, with a little creek and mini waterfall running past. The women’s bathroom smelled quite bad, but I think they were working on a broken pipe or something during our visit. Definitely would stay again!

For Lake Catherine State Park: Beautiful park to spend the night. We wished we had more time to enjoy it, but we were just passing through. There is plenty of space between each site and nearly all sites are either on the lake or have a great view of the lake.

For Lake Catherine State Park: We stayed here in November 2019. Full hookups! Gorgeous surroundings with lake views. Leaves everywhere. We were under a shagbark hickory tree. Fun times ahead trying to break into them. Would love to return when we can kayak.

Laura

For Lake Catherine State Park: April, 2018: Stayed for three nights, and had a water front site near a public dock. Our site (25) was not very level but our 5th wheel can handle it. We had a partial hookup with 30 amps and water. They have full hookups with 50 AMPs, of those sites the most northerly of the sites on the waterfront are the most spacious. Lots of hiking, great water access (great for boats of all kinds), and pretty setting. Antenna tv good 42 stations, and we had ok Verizon/ATT. Two downers: there is a power plant across the lake that spoils the view and is loud, and the local birds and squirrels have been feed too much to the point that they eat out of your hands. Cute, but not good for them, plus the birds can get quite loud. Camp host was GREAT, and we had to wiggle our way into our site due to trees. So, if you have a bigger rig, I suggest B loop or the class A 50 amp/sewer sites to be certain you are level and can fit in. Nice park, I would definitely come again. Close to Hot Springs, and a nice golf course too.

NC Travelers

For Lake Catherine State Park: We stayed here 3 nights in February, had a lot of vacancies, but were told in March Park fills up quickly. hiking trails were listed, but did not get a chance to explore them. Sites pretty level. Bathrooms were new modern clean bathrooms. good views of the lake. Park was well maintained and quiet, although were were told in summer when power plant across lake is producing full power it can be somewhat noisy. We would not recommend pulling in after dark. Roads were hard to follow and not well marked, so finding a site was more difficult than normal at night. We would stay here again without any problem.
