For Rest Stop: This would’ve been five stars if it had been totally legal to stay there overnight. This rest area was so beautiful it was like a campground. The night sky was stunning and I went to sleep to the sound of frogs. There were definitely other people spending the night here and in fact I got the hook-up on this Rest Area by the nice hotel front-desk guy who lives out of his car. But you are gambling that you won’t get The Knock. I saw an official truck pausing to look at me but I was still eating dinner and so they kept going. You definitely need to clear out after one day because in the morning at around 7am, they come by and copy your car license plate – presumably to give you a ticket if you’re there the next morning.
