For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: This was our first time visiting Monterey Pines and while we did read all the reviews before making our decision to stay here, we were definitely taken aback by the extremely small site we were given and also how close the neighbors were. First warning we were given was watch out for golfers teeing off and stray balls. The second day we were there I was taking a nap and heard a good thud on our RV and found a golf ball next to our door. The netting around the campsites have lots of holes and it’s amazing that the kids riding around on their bikes dont get hit. Our site had us backed up to a warehouse looking building that we found out was a jet propulsion building. We found out the first morning what that meant when it sounded like a jet engine was getting ready to take off, but never did for over an hour with a high pitched noise. The airport didnt bother us at all, but this definitely did. We did happen to ask when we first arrived if we could change sites and were told its all in the computer and nothing can be changed. Ok, we will suck it up and stay where we were assigned. There is nothing scenic about this place. absolutely nothing unless you consider looking at your neighbors black water hose scenic 5 ft from your camping chair. The grounds need A LOT of work. The location is perfect for getting around, but we have decided not to ever stay here again. The cheaper price wasnt worth it to us. If you do stay here, dont have any high expectations and know you wont be looking at anything beautiful unless you leave the grounds.

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: Whatever else you like or dislike: Its Monterey, there is tons of stuff to do and see, and by staying here, pennies on the dollar. We stayed Mid December2018 to mid January 2019. Perfect.

Rick

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: Best part is location. Only 3 miles from cannery row. Nice cool weather in summer (60). The park needs a rehab. They keep saying next year, 3 years now. Many sites are uneven, I mean really uneven, there answer is to provide pieces of wood to level out you rig. I saw one guy with 8 pieces under his front jacks. They are back in sites but hookups are at the front? Bring sewer extension. Hook ups all work. Bathroom/showers clean and in good condition. Wi fi bad. Only works within 10 feet of restroom. So far I have 5 new golf balls as camp is next to golf course. Lucky I have a tree that shields my RV. Check in personnel are nice and had everything ready. Secure area with coded gate at night. Overall worth it ($36) due to location.

Brian

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: This campground was in a very nice area of California, however it lacked appeal. We paid $36 a night and the sights are unpaved and unleveled. Also the staff was not very informative or friendly. The golf course is very nice and I felt like all the money went into course and not back into the actual campground. Beware a lot of full timers.

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: Very nice place to stay in town. Clean and quiet. Some airplane traffic during the day but not constant. Just a bike ride down to Fisherman Warf and Cannery Row. Everyone was friendly.

Jennicillin

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: I'm surprised by all the good reviews of this park honestly. First of all, contrary to what the info page says, there is no 50amp power, only 30. The roads in and out are too narrow, especially for back in spots only. Also no where to park your vehicle after you've unhitched. Do they not realize the size truck you need to haul these things? Also, right smack in the middle of the golf course, not near it, IN it. We had to drive through a tee box to get to our site, I don't love that when we checked in we were warned 6different ways to watch for stray golf balls.... especially with young children. Not worth saving money, I'd rather spend more and be comfortable. Won't be staying here again

ArmyDude

For Monterey Pines RV Park - Military: Nice campsite, good clean facilities. We stayed for 6 nights visiting our son and his family. 30 Amp service only, but the weather was cool enough that we didnt need A/C. The park is next to the county airport, so there is some plane noise, but not really a bother. We would stay here again.
