For Big Meadows Campground: high country around 9500 ft , best /cleanest restrooms we have seen in over 200 federal sites , good fishing and near freezing temps then up to around mid 70's during daytime , loved it !!

For Big Meadows Campground: Easy access off the main road, several very nice sites, good clean water available at several locations around the campground. Clean vault toilets, no showers. Several sites had full sun but temps stayed below 80 degrees, woke up to 37 degrees on August 2, 2017! Would have given 4 1/2 stars if it had showers and 5 stars if electric. Still loved the campground and lake. Bear was in the campground two nights before we arrived so take precautions.

For Big Meadows Campground: It would be 4 stars except that all the trees had to be cut down. Sites have fire ring and picnic tables, pit toilets and now there is drinking water available. Many of the sites have a view of the lake. There are a couple of trails accessible from the camp ground including a nice hike all around the lake. This is our 2nd trip here and we'll probably be back again in the future.
