Road to Eudaimonia

For Stillwater Campground: This was a great find! We got lucky as we rolled up on Friday evening of Memorial Day weekend with no reservations and got the LAST spot in the campground. There are about 10 spots that are first come first served and we lucked out. The pad was great and completely level. Beautiful views of Lake Granby. Some of the sites were a bit close together though ours had plenty of space and didn’t feel like we were on top of anybody. Nice picnic tables and fire rings. Our site had electrical but no water though there are sites that have both.

Shortly after arriving the camp host showed up to greet us and give the kids these adorable coloring packs and crayons. It was so sweet and a great way to keep them busy while we got everything situated.

For Stillwater Campground: We loved this campground. Set up on a peninsula with views forever. Half of A loop has power and water, the rest are dry camping. Some sites are short - ok for us, we have a 24' van. Cost is good, location is fantastic.

For Stillwater Campground: Got To the campground on a Friday afternoon and the area manager worked his butt off trying to find us a place to stay with them. We initially were directed to overflow area but within an hour he Called us back to the Stillwater Camp ground (our favorite). We love this place. Sitting atop the beautiful Rocky Mountains where we could see the outline of President Abraham Lincoln in the furtherest mountain range. Also looking down on a 59 acre cow farm with horses and the granby lake on the other side. An exceptionally wonderful staff host who stopped in daily to chat. We will plan to go back here again we stayed 5 days and rested up for the long trip back home to Virginia.

For Stillwater Campground: Very open. No trees to speak of so while there are great views you also see other campers all around. Some spaces are right next to each other but others are more spread out (like 50 feet away). Most sites are too small even for a 35 foot and many are surrounded by short walls built into the hill and can interfere with slides (I had to jack up one side to clear). Most rigs here are tents and pop ups and the like. Lake and mtns are beautiful and there are a lot of sites here. All are full tho tonight.

$12 / night with senior pass for dry. They have showers and picnic tables and fire rings. Only a few sites have hookups it seems.

Im a fulltimer so the weekend folks may see things differently.

For Stillwater Campground: In November all NF campgrounds in the area had a closed gate preventing entry - except Stillwater which had ten sites which weren't closed off. Sites were on the road kept open to permit boat access to the Lake. No water or restrooms but a beautiful place to stop for the night.

For Stillwater Campground: Stayed on A loop, 30 and 50 amp hook ups. A Loop is on top of hill . No trees since cut down for pine beetles leaving sites more exposed to wind, but 360 degrees views of snow topped mountains and lake -amazing. Would definitely stay again.
