For Cape Henlopen State Park: Fabulous park. We have a 20 foot long class B, and parked in row D, where there were quite a few other class B’s. Private bath and shower rooms, a wonderful camp store, beach access, and very modern electric and water hook ups make this park exceptional.

For Cape Henlopen State Park: This is a beautiful park in a highly desirable location, at the neck of a peninsula with ocean on one side and Delaware Bay on the other. I have a camper van. People driving campers need to know that the A Road sites provide a parking space along the side of the road (a busy road), with a hike down a hill to the site where there is picnic table and fire-ring. You can't drive to the site. In the parking space there is very little room for even putting out an awning, and it's quite awkward to carry food down to the table for outdoor meals. There are many sites throughout the campground that work well for camper vans and other RVs, just not on A. The campground is large, with lots of trees, though many sites are pretty small. It is ideal for people who come for biking or don't mind driving to the beach and other attractions. For walkers like me, it is a very long walk to anywhere and without good signage. My impression is that walking is not encouraged, although rangers are happy to mark routes and beaches on a map (without information about distance). This is a campground with lots to offer, but could be difficult for some campers.

For Cape Henlopen State Park: Beautiful campground. Sites are a little close together. Location is great. A bit expensive ($48), since you pay for the beach, but since we did not go there....

For Cape Henlopen State Park: The campground itself is beautiful. Access to the shore, hiking trails and a historical WWII military base. The pull through we were on wasn't the most level but it was pretty good. The place is EXPENSIVE though, nearly $50/night in November which I have to assume is off-season for them. Also, the office seemed a little disorganized as we called the reservation line and asked about extending to a third night and they advised us to talk to the onsite office; when we went to the office they said they would need to check with the manager since they were not sure; we called reservations again and were once more advised to go to the onsite office; then when we went back to the office they told us they could not do reservations there and our site had been booked during our back and forth with them and reservations.

Dave

For Cape Henlopen State Park: Just spent a very enjoyable three days at Cape Henlopen state park. From 10/21 - 10/23 2018. The site was clean, the power and water hookups were in excellent shape. The tank flush was clean and well planned. Camp store was well stocked and bathhouses were modern and clean. We were in a 30’ Class C MotorHome.

For Cape Henlopen State Park: Very nice state park, recently updated in 2017. Sites are tight but all trailer sites have electric and water. Most sites are shaded. Sites A2- A20 (even numbered) are road side sites with the picnic table access by walk in. Camp store on site. Great family friendly campground with lots to do and the kids have a playground. You can go to the beach, fishing, hiking or biking. Lots of great shopping in the area as well as great dining. All traffic exits on the A-Loop. We will come back again. We camped in a 20 foot (hitch to bumper) travel trailer at site A-23 in June of 2018.
