For Hillsborough River State Park: Quiet, people were friendly and helpful. Backing into our site was a bit tight maneuvering around trees, but once we were in the site was roomy. Not a ton of privacy between sites, but it wasn’t a huge deal for us. No sewer, had to use our portable waste tank to empty at the dump station as needed. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend a lot of time checking out the park, but we have in the past and it’s an awesome place. Can’t beat the price! We made reservations 6 months in advance, and were only able to get 3 nights in a row. Then we had to move to a different park due to availability. This was over the holidays, so it was busy.

For Hillsborough River State Park: Nice but very busy park. Close to Tampa so lots of weekenders and transients. The lots are spaced well apart with buffers of trees and scrub. Level? Eh, not so much but my 21' RV doesn't care about that. Sandy lots so bring a broom or portable-vac. Lots of places to bike ride. I was lucky enough to land a site next to the canoe/kayak launch. Water was low and was a steep climb to access/exit but doable. The park has added 5 or 6 Glamping tents which start at $150/night. They were full up on the weekend. Lobster and Dom Perignon anyone?

For Hillsborough River State Park: Nice park. Pool closed until summer 2023. Sites are pretty spacious and extremely shaded. It should be he’s to get satellite here. Nice trails. ATT was fair. Bike and Kayak rentals. Washer and dryer at shower house (didn’t use either). Kayak launch in campground and by rental shop.

For Hillsborough River State Park: Wonderful older campground. Sites are spacious and level. Bathhouse is clean and well maintained. Liked it so well we stayed additional nights. Will come again.

For Hillsborough River State Park: Great campsite with very level sites. Lots of room, baths were old but clean. Was a little muggy and humid when we were there but that’s because it was September in Florida.

Donald Chamberlain

For Hillsborough River State Park: Was fine for an overnight and cleaning up after nearly 5 months away. We were returning home the next day. A bit old but the site was level but a bit close on one side.

For Hillsborough River State Park: This is a great place to stay. There are wonderful trails - great for hikes or bikes! River is good for relaxed Kayaking / canoeing.
Only issue is with other campers. PLEASE do not play your radio / TV all day. If you go camping to listen to a radio all day and then the TV all night and morning - you are doing something terribly wrong. If it is loud enough to be heard from other sites - it is way too loud.
Anyway - thanks to bad campers for taking away the whole point of being in nature. It is really rude.
But I will be back - just try to avoid weekends.
