For West Overlook: Great little park -sites are semi level

For West Overlook: The other reviews are right. This is a beautiful spot, on a lake impounded by a dam. We stayed for one night in #47, a prime site with a clear lake view. The C of E do a great job. We will look for other CGs they operate for sure. All the sites here are back-in, but roomy and reasonably well spaced. And the price is certainly right.

For West Overlook: Another fabulous Army Corps. site. They do not disappoint. We were here two nights July4,5, 2021. Only electric so make sure you take on water before setting up. We would stay here again.

For West Overlook: Very pleasant campground. Chose a spot that was fairly secluded and away from neighbors. Electric hookups only; 30 amp. Water and dump station on site. Showers in the bathhouse were surprisingly clean.

For West Overlook: This is a beautiful park and lake! Sites 61 through 69 with the big grassy areas right on the lake. 62 and 69 also offer shade. 45 through 54 i’m also very nice. The website directions about making reservations are not current. You cannot go in without a reservation. We sat in the parking lot with one bar of connectivity finally got one from that hideous recreation.gov. West Overlook has only electrical hook up, but you can get fresh water at the entrance.

For West Overlook: The only reason this doesn’t get a 5 is because the bath houses were always so hot and wet. There is a shared stall with 2 showers in it. That part was good for taking two little kids at once. Great place to walk around and see different landscapes. Awesome to have a beach right there, as well as the fossil gorge. Great place to go for a jog or bike ride. We will be back!

For West Overlook: Quintessential state park campground. Our site was right by the lake. The view was great and the spacing between sites was good, but the gravel pad at our site, W52, was uneven and sloped. The dump & fill station was just outside of the camp area. The people at the registration booth were very friendly & helpful.
