P&M

For Prairie Pines Campground: What a great restful night we had sad to say no trains like others reported. We had a nice pull thru site And had more then enough for our 32 Ft class C. He highly recommend this place escpally for the $30 a night charge. Bring cash and save the 2% processing fee.

Ray

For Prairie Pines Campground: Easy drive off highway. Quiet with the pleasant sounds of small planes and train in the distance, and lots of interesting walking especially with the small airport behind us. Usually pull through on many sites but muddy from rain and had a tricky back in, high sewer connection. But overall a great, affordable overnight stay.

Dick

For Prairie Pines Campground: This is a very nice clean park. It is mowed every Tuesday. It can hold any size rig. The pads are fairly level and are gravel. The park host are excellent and will do their best to accommodate your needs. Sites are full hook-ups and 50 amp. service. There is not a lot to see or do in Rantoul since the Air Force Base closed in 1993. The Air Museum is closing this year. Many of the aircraft were being crated and shipped to other museums around the country. It is a shame as this was a great museum. The sites were $25. @ night or $125. @ week. This is a great place to stop over if you are passing through. Nice and quite. I camped here in a 40' motorhome pulling a trailer. Never had to unhook.
