For Lakeshore Camp Resort: If I could give negative stars I would. Calling this a resort is like calling my two hole outhouse a luxury bath. If you are reading these reviews you will save yourself the “no refunds” loss we encountered as one night was one too much. Poor roads, poorly maintained seasonals ( like 99% seasonal) and generally a dump.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: If you're looking for a place to relax while you visit nearby Indiana Dunes State Park or National Lakeshore, this probably isn't it. This "resort" is stuck in the middle of a light industrial area, surrounded by rundown mobile home parks, expressway noise, at least two rail lines, and a trash-burning powerplant. The numerous mentions that there are no refunds for early departure should have been a red flag. The overwhelming majority of the sites are seasonals (our local contacts believe most are permanent residents and not campers), with all the "landscaping" and assorted things laying around their sites. Our site was up against the entry road so we got to hear every vehicle that entered or left the property and all the adjoining properties. Freight trains rumbled by at all hours of the day and night, and actually made our trailer bounce on at least one occasion - and we were on the opposite side of the park from the tracks! On the "up" side, the sites are all full hookup, which was important for us due to limited grey and black tank capacities. We left the morning after arrival, gladly sacrificing two nights' rent to move to better conditions farther from the parks we came to visit.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: Planned for only a weekend stay but needed to extent for a week. Staff was always friendly. Park was clean. Yes, we were right next to the interstate but the road noise didn’t bother us because we were so tired after our day with family and activities. The train on the other side of the lake was often but again didn’t bother us. I’m sure during peak season this park is a busy place. There are plenty of full time residents in nice tiny homes. And there are also some pretty run down ones. Again, this doesn’t bother us. Other reviews made it sound like the entire park was run down. We plan to stay again over the holidays since it’s so close to our family.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: Stayed here in 2019 due to it’s proximity to Indiana Dunes National Park. State and National parks were booked and I was happy to fin available spot here so close to the parks. Didn’t bother reading reviews as Allstays listed it as a Yogi Bear which I know to be pricey, but usually follow a certain standard similar to KOAs. I will never not read reviews again. Staff was indeed pleasant. Site in and of itself was easily accessible, had fully functional hookups for electric, water, and sewer. Interstate noise was constant on one side. Train noise was constant on the other. This is not a Yogi Bear site. Having been there, I am sure they lost that status. 99% permanent residents live here. They party into the night. The security golf cart drove around constantly with red and blue lights flashing. They weren’t on a call, I believe they just like filling all campers rigs with flashing lights. There were empty beer cans on our campground in the morning. The last night we stayed there, my camper got surrounded by the actual police who got the wrong camper. There was a certain amount of entertainment I got while sitting by my campfire watching a hay rack of small children singing twinkle little star at the same time as teenagers with red solo cups drove by on golf carts blaring un-censored gangsta rap. I hope that at some point, Allstays updates the system so unknowing rvers don’t continue to stop here thinking they are pulling into a jellystone.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: 95% are full time renters. Many of the permanent units are in need of repair. The campground places the daily campers in some of the open spots around the permanent campers. Not much of a chance to visit with neighbors since many are not around. They offer a number of amenities, but unfortunately when we were there on a Wednesday, the boat rentals, restaurants, golf cart rentals, etc were all closed. No cable, WiFi only works near the office so you are left to using your hot spot if you have one. There was a faint order of sewage throughout the campground. Paid $49 for one night (less 10% GS discount.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: Run, don't walk away from this park! Sketchy area. Row after row of mostly old unkept trailers. Garbage lying around. Dirty. 900 spaces of full timers. (no joke) The occasional actual rv ers stumble in unwittingly, like us. Train runs by 4 times an hour. Sewer/Water treatment plant nearby. Stinks. Pot holes in small narrow roadways. People party and drinking into the night. Loud. Not inexpensive. Find a nice, safe reststop to stay before considering this dump.

For Lakeshore Camp Resort: We were traveling in March, cold and snowy, looking for a place to spend the night. Although, the Allstays APP listed this campground as not open, in desperation I called regardless. It appears to be mainly full timers, but they had a pull through spot and we didn't even need to detach for the night. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced. We had to pass through Kind of a scarey neighborhood to get to the campground, and was happy to see it was gated with security. Would definitely stay again.
