For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Very quiet even with all sites filled. Camp hosts were great. Close to water, bike trails, and Michigan City trying to make a comeback. I had good enough speeds through Verizon to work a few days midweek. Very pretty. Beach is about 1.5 miles one way walking I think. Wish I had my bike with me. Would definitely stay again.

For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Nice sites, great bathhouses with long hot showers. Beaches close by. But not much else going on unless take the train into C town. Felt safe even with proximity to Gary. Good for weekend trip. Wouldn’t stay longer.

For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: This is a stunningly beautiful campground with level, but secluded sites. In fall, the underbrush is brightly colored, making it a destination into itself. The lack of electricity is a downer, and reservations are required during COVID.

Donald Chamberlain

For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Like most National Parks there is no electric hookups etc. That said it is a clean very very wooded campground with lots of privacy and conveniently located. Just outside the campground is a train station where at full price of $10 one way you can easily get to Chicago. Got seniors it’s half that price. We got a 8:52AM train into Chicago and a 4:02 train back for a great day. I cannot comment on the washrooms as we do not use them. There is water and a dump area that are adequate. We have a 31 ft class c motor home and tow a Fiat. The sites accommodated is well.

Jeanne

For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Primitive camping at it's finest! Shower house cleaner than any I've ever seen. Very quiet and patrolled routinely. Caretakers very friendly and helpful. Primitive sites are flat, dry, easily accessed with gravel pad and wooded all around. Would go back there without a doubt!

For Dunewood - Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Nice campground in a hilly wooded area. Site pads and roads are paved with plenty of room between sites. Bathhouse has private shower rooms which are in the process of being renovated.
