For Branch Lake Camping area: We would like to give a higher rating as the family that owns this is great and very hospitable but need to be fair about the ratings for others. It sits right on a lake with a boat ramp and swimming area. Lots of trees and only a few sites have the view of the water. We are in a 43 ft fifth wheel toy hauler and the roads are nice leading up to the park. A little tight inside though but ours was an easy pull through right by the owners and the office. Be aware they only take cash or check. There is no laundry facilities so you have to drive to Ellsworth for that. Bathrooms and showers are not that great and need updates. It is a pretty quiet park and there are a lot of kids and they seem to have a great time riding bikes, playground and the lake activities. It is about an hour drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor with normal traffic. Great hiking, biking and scenery in Acadia. You have to make online reservations to go up to Cadillac Mountain and sunrise times are booked months in advance. No cable and wifi is okay. The owners said next year they are getting fiber optic next year. We had an electric/water only site but they do have a limited number of full hookups. The owner has a large tank on a truck that he will come around for $10 to hook up to your RV to dump on Tuesdays and Fridays. They also have a dump station if you just want to do that before you leave. We enjoyed our time here and would return but try to get a full hookup.
