For JW Wells State Park: We loved it here! The first site we stayed at, #45 I think was pretty slanted and muddy, since it had rained. We asked to be moved and the office was very accommodating. We moved to a more private site backing up to the woods. AWESOME site!! The showers were super large & clean. They are unisex, so you just go in and lock the door. The park was clean, the beach was well kept and the trails were so interesting. We were going to stay a day or two, but stayed 5 instead. We hated to leave. This park is our 2nd favorite park ever.

For JW Wells State Park: very nice park but $9 fee for non resident campers all over Michigan state parks is rip off!!!

For JW Wells State Park: Level grassy sites - many along the lake. Lots of trees but no sense of privacy between sites. Twenty-five sites are first come first serve including two lakeside sites. Large bathhouse with six private shower rooms.
