For Newaygo State Park: We stayed one night in May 2021 at this nice rustic campground in the mature forest with good privacy between the sites. We enjoyed hiking the 2 mile trail along the bluff by the lake. FYI - Vault toilets only and no shower house. Lots of boating and fishing opportunities.

For Newaygo State Park: Lovely place to camp. Lots of trees and privacy and space Beautiful trail tracing the lake. Vault toilets were spotless and pleasant to use. A great place to get away from it all.

For Newaygo State Park: Very nice state park. We came before season opened so, the office wasn’t manned but, we had a spot right off the lake, which was beautiful. Only a few people camping because it was early in the season. The sites are set up where there’s a stand of trees between each campsite so, you get some privacy. They have a nice path on the bluffs along the water, they also have a Frisbee golf course. Looks like a nice boat launch, too. We stayed in Poplar campground, they have another one called Oak. We have a very large fifth wheel and there are sites to fit it well but, just a heads-up - just go slowly through the twisting thin dirt roads to get to the sites. Overall, a nice stay, on our maiden RV camping voyage!

Good activities

For Newaygo State Park: Nice campsite overall, it is a more rustic campsite however the bathrooms are clean and water tastes fine. They have a really good disc golf course here with 18 holes. And there is a nice 4 mile hike along the Muskegon river just below the Hardy Dam that is a nice walk along the river. Nice place to go if you are looking to get away.
