For Spire Rock Campground: Very nice and unique FS campground. Over priced at $24 though. Less than 20 sites strung out a long a 1 mile road so there is plenty of privacy… Never seen campsites spaced out this far apart, we loved it. Each site is equipped with picnic table, fire ring and bear locker but there is no water available other than gathering it from the creek. several fault toilets available. Nestled in the canyon, most sites have a view of spire rock. The approach to the campground is a 3 mile gravel road that is deeply potholed so use caution. The campground host was polite but very thorough in making sure you have properly paid and documented your stay.

For Spire Rock Campground: Beware of camp host! Not friendly. They were very rude. I submitted my money for 2 nights and claimed a campsite, and marked it as so on the site. I had to run into town for supplies. When I got back there was another family that took it. When I told them that I had paid for this spot, they said the camp hosts said that it was available. The entire campground was full. When I asked to get my money back the host said that I didn’t check in with them first. I’ve camped here a lot and I have never had to check in with the camp host first, this is supposed to be a first come first serve campground. The pretended like they didn’t know what I was talking about and said they didn’t have my money when I saw the envelope in their hands! I threatened to call the forests service in charge of them and eventually they gave me back my money. Be Aware of campground hustlers, or maybe they’re just senile.
