For Quartz Flat Campground: Except for the train & freeway noise, good place for a quick overnight. If going westbound on 90, don’t follow Google maps, as it takes you to exit 55 & back on the freeway. Watch for the rest stop signs before that, then you don’t have to go through the tunnel and you’ll be further away from the train tracks. Fill & dump loop C. Price now $15 ($7.50 senior)

CL

For Quartz Flat Campground: Very nice CG for a quick pull-off and spend the night. Very easy access even with them tearing down the rest stops. This CG is open while under construction. Stayed her many times going back and forth. Some road noise but not terrible. Have always been able to find a good spot, even on major holidays. Has a short trail through the woods that we use for a little exercise after driving a big day. Easy dump and fill station. Don’t hesitate to stop here for a quick rest.

Chris

For Quartz Flat Campground: Stopped here on a whim. Good move. Clean. Nice host. Yes there is some Interstate noise. Look at the price. $10 regular, which means Senior Pass is $5. For $5 it doesn’t have to be perfect, but it is real nice. Worth every dime.

SK

For Quartz Flat Campground: This campground is located at a rest stop exit on I-90 (eastbound and westbound). It has A, C, and G loops. G loop is on the east side of I-90, while A and C are on the west side of I-90. If you’re going eastbound, go through the rest area, following signs to the campground. You encounter the G loop first; this loop is closest to the railroad tracks. You can continue past G loop and the road will go through a tunnel to the other side of the interstate, where you find A and C loops. Or if you are westbound on I-90, access A and C from the rest area. A and C loops are located near the Clark Fork River, but the river is pretty far below, down a steep embankment, not very accessible. When I was there (Aug 2019, Sunday evening), there were few campers in any of the loops. I stayed in the A loop. The campground is in ponderosa pine forest, with thin understory. Most of the campsites are spaced well apart, so it is pleasant and does not feel crowded. There are clean vault toilets, water, and trash receptacles. There's an RV dump and water at loop C. The loops and campsites are paved, though some are kind of bumpy. I didn’t see tent pads, but it looked like a person could set up a tent in most of the sites. Most sites are back-in, with room for long RVs. There are a few pull-through sites in loop A. There is noise from the interstate, and sometimes a train goes by. Really, the man running his open-frame generator was making more noise than the traffic ☹; those should be banned in campgrounds. Overall, I thought it was a pretty campground and a good place to spend the night on my way east. $10/night. Only 3 stars because of traffic noise.

OldDog

For Quartz Flat Campground: Not sure where the tunnel mentioned previously. We're in #16 of "C loop" at 5:30pm 6/24/18--no homeless, no garbage, no mess. Quiet light breeze and birds chirping. Just us and the Camphosts in this loop. Sr. Pass=$5, otherwise $10.

Cisco

For Quartz Flat Campground: There are two parts to this campground. First part just drive by it. Don’t stop. It’s basically a homeless campground that full of people living out of their tents. This place is super dirty and gross. You’ll want to drive past it and though the tunnel 14’ height. Now this is a nice place. Clean no homeless people.
