For Honey Bear Campground: This review is based strictly on booking and website communication: Struggled to find 2 trailer sites close to each other. Honeybear just happen to have them. We needed at least 1 site with a 50 amp hookup. About a month out, I always try and call to verbally confirm our reservations. I tried calling 4 separate times over a week to confirm our booking details we’re accurate. Could not get a live person. Had to eventually send an email. Came to find out the 50 amp site we booked no longer has 50 amp available, despite the website saying otherwise. If you are staying here you may want to double check your reservation before making the drive.

For Honey Bear Campground: Please don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. It is obvious from all the broken & rotted out railings, bridges, and caution tape through out the campground that there has been no real upkeep going on for years! This is a very hilly campground with tiny sites. So if you are over 25-30 ft. in length probably not a good idea. They are also really strict about checking in before 2pm. They will even make you sit in the parking lot and wait regardless of whether the site is empty. We even saw them try to place a 40 ft. bunkhouse on a site that was literally a slice of grass along a cliff. If they put out their awnings any car/camper would have ripped them off driving by. Granted there are not a lot of choices in Boone, but there are better ones then this one.

For Honey Bear Campground: 3 of us stayed here for several nights for a September wedding. Nice campground with shady spots. Did require some leveling. Nice owners, quiet and friendly. The only reason we took off 1 star is there is one super tight turn and scraped the side of Travel trailer getting around it. No problem with the shorter 20 ft trailer but the longer ones had issues getting around. We will stay here again and probably pick a different spot!

For Honey Bear Campground: My family and I love Honeybear campground. They have a few fun theme weekends throughout the year that offer extra games and food and beverages. The staff is extremely nice and the campsites are beautiful. They are always upgrading something at the campground. If you're in the high country you should definitely look at Honey Bear Campground
