For KOA Holiday Asheville West: We had a 3 night stay here, visiting family. I recommend the pull-thru sites near the camp office, the back-in sites are a bit further out. People in the camp office were very helpful. Typical KOA standards, which are very good. The traffic noise from the interstate is very noticeable when sitting outside, but inside our camper it was just barely noticeable. I’ve stayed at both KOAs in Asheville, the East and West, and I think the East KOA is a better place to stay.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: This is the worst KOA we have experienced in our 3 years of full tile travel. We love KOA campgrounds and are VIPs but this was just not a pleasant experience. This they call this a KOA holiday but honestly it’s not any better than most KOA Journeys we have stayed in. The site we were in for two weeks was horrible. It was not level and was very tight compared to the other sites on the property, leaving us very little room to be outside without looking at the neighbors sewer hose while trying to cook outdoors. We told them we felt the site was too small for our 41’ 5th wheel but they made no effort to change us to another site. The staff is friendly enough which is why we give it 2 stars instead of 1, but this campground just had a lot to be desired and is way over priced for what it is and where it is located. It is not convenient to much of anything and the road noise, while tolerated, just added to the miserable experience. Honestly you should look elsewhere unless it is just an overnight stay.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: If I had to rate this park on its merits alone it would probably be a 3.5. However, the experience I had was beyond incredible! The people here are absolutely amazing. Not only are they making improvements daily but they are willing to bend over backward to help you in any way they can.
We broke a leaf spring on one of our trailer axles and realized it was not safe to drive. We had planned on staying here for one night on our way to the Outerbanks. Sheryl in the office was so helpful in accommodating our stay for an additional 3 nights. She was booked but they were making last minute improvements to a sight and it was technically closed. She opened the sight for us and they completed the improvements right away to make a spot for us to replace the leaf spring.
We had the parts overnighted to the office, they called us when the package arrived and Dave, the handyman, loaned us tons of blocks to brace or RV while I was swapping the springs out. This was all done without asking. We simply mentioned our predicament and asked to stay a couple extra days. They reached out to us in our time of need in ways I would have done but most parks would never dream of doing. THANK YOU ALL!
Now, back to the park... as mentioned the sights are a little short, the trails are cool and the dog park is very nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. The pool was very nice after working in the 91 degree heat all day. The staff would get a 10 star review if I could rate them that high. I will be back if to nothing more than to say hi.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: Spent a few nights here while visiting Asheville. Not to far off the highway, but highway noise didn’t bother us. Sites had enough room for us but they are a bit shallow and parking a vehicle in addition to a camper is tight. Bathrooms and showers were good and there was a nice dog park for our dogs to run in. WiFi throughout the camp although it was spotty near out site. Cell service was great.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: This is a pretty typical KOA - conveniently located, a little overpriced, too close to the highway, tight spots, poor WiFi. It’s okay for a quick overnighter, but will slowly suck the soul out of you if stay any longer.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: One night stay site was great. Camp ground was laid out well with efficient use of space. Our site was a gravel pull through long enough to accommodate our 36 footer and king cab F 250 hooked up. The campground is right next to the highway like others mentioned lots of trucks down shifting for the steep grade nearby slowed down at about 2AM. Appreciated the level site, full hookups, and the good WiFi. Campground was well maintained and the roads were smoother than the expressway.
