For Riverhouse Acres: *Note: We stayed here with the new owners! Not the old grouchy man from previous reviews. 😂* We spent a week here while visiting Asheville. It was just about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville and about an hour from Smoky Mountain National Park. It was perfect for us wanting to see both! The campground was a bit outdated and needs some upgrades, but we were fine with no frills. I think they know this so they charged a lovely $25 a night for full hook-up! Regardless they still had some of the best WiFi we’ve had so far! They are under new ownership, so they are still figuring some things out... so there is no “campground office” and not many amenities. But again, we have everything we need in our RV so we were happy. There are several sites across from a fairly picturesque river. There are a lot of regulars and people that probably live there. The sites are fairly close together, but we still had enough room for our dogs to be on leads. For the price, we’d definitely stay again!

For Riverhouse Acres: It's a small campground with a picturesque shallow, rocky river on one side and a small agricultural field on the other. It is quiet and we had a pleasant weeks stay. The man who runs it does seem to be a little cranky. He's taken 20 years of bad experiences and made a one page list of (illegible) rules of which all are inviolate. My neighbor got a good talking to because he parked his vehicle outside in the parking lot to let his daughter with grandkids park next to his campsite when they came for an afternoon visit. Not sure which (illegible) rule was broken.
