For Stone Mountain State Park: We stayed at site 69 from Oct 24 - 28th. The site included a fire ring, picnic table, electric, water. No sewer hook up but dump station is close and accessible. The campground is extremely clean, well kept, quiet, and all sites appear level. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our Border Collie enjoyed the daily hikes on many of the area hiking trails. This is an excellent spot to get away as cell service was spotty and no cable or wifi. Will stay again in the near future.

Wandering Buffalos

For Stone Mountain State Park: We stayed for 2 nights at Stone Mountain State Park campground in site#69 which like all RV sites in the park, only have water/electric hookups. Sites appear leveled but they were not, leveling blocks were used to offset that. The mountains surround the campsite provide some reliefs from sun in the morning and late afternoon, but scorching sun at noon will make your AC working overtime. For $20/night, the campsites are far enough apart and close enough to the bathroom make this stay comfortable. No WiFi anywhere in the park, lack of LTE reception, rerouting campground entrance and gate lock detention nightly, and no alcoholic beverage policy make this park borderline paranoia. Bathroom which consisted of showers and toilets were clean and functional, thanks to diligence cleaning staff who seems to start cleaning around 7AM daily. Dump station is conveniently located outside campground with blue trash receptacles line up for you use. Clean and pleasant place to walk your pooch with paved and spacious campground roads. OTA TV channels were around 4 according to our neighbor, but we got zilch. Nearest grocery and fresh produce (and we meant harvesting the same day fresh) can be found at Pro Stop less than 15mins away after very twisted road. Would we stay again? Perhaps if we can’t find anything else.

For Stone Mountain State Park: We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The sites are all paved with a fire ring and picnic table and appear level, no sewer hook up but you do have water and electric plus a nice dump station. The campground is extremely clean, well kept and quiet. You can pick up some basic needs and firewood at the office. There is a country store just outside the park where you can get something to eat and my 10 year old says they have the best ice cream ever. Our golden retriever enjoyed swimming in one of the many creeks running through the park and we all enjoyed one of the many hiking trails with spectacular views. Fantastic spot for a relaxing weekend.

Martha

For Stone Mountain State Park: Nice park, very quiet, no cell signal, as others have written, but it's good to get away from the screens from time to time.

I gave the park 4 stars due to the condition of the comfort station in the A loop: 1970's brown tile with black grout and little
to no maintenance, combined with poor lighting makes for a disgusting appearance and discourages one from lingering too long.
The state of NC needs to replace, not renovate this restroom.

Campers in the B loop have sites that are more exposed to the sun, are more level, and the comfort station looks to have been built
in the last year or so.

For Stone Mountain State Park: This is a wonderful place for a family. The campsites are nice but do need a few more trees for shade. The mountain and the natural water slides in the Falls is an excellent place to hang out on a hot summer afternoon.

Sachmo

For Stone Mountain State Park: Very well maintained campground . Sites are level. Not much shade as of yet. Recently planted trees appear to be strategically placed for shade. Check out butterfly display at Park headquarters. Avoid Oklahoma Road entrance if you have a motorhome or long trailer.

geoatl

For Stone Mountain State Park: The mountain was real cool. We walked the whole thing and it was a work out. If you want to do the trail around the mountain, I would highly recommend go counter clock wise. We went the other way and it about killed us. When you get to the first clearing you can actually use your cell phone. YEP. There is no cell service for any company there. There is also no cable or TV signals. You have power and hot showers. The sites are real clean but no frills. We stayed 3 nights which was too long. There is a river going through the camp sites, so that was cool. No bike trails so that was a bummer.
