Ted

For Fort Dix Campground: Sites are quiet and peaceful except during morning time for range to be open , but nothing too loud. The site we had was near the skeet shouting range and they only used that on the weekends , we had sewer and 50 amp hookups and overall was close to the base and local towns

Davif

For Fort Dix Campground: This RV park is nicely located and near Willow Pond. We were surprised to find "8" sites, not "20". Also, only 30 amp and no sewer hookup. None of this is necessarily deal breaking for us, but I wish I'd known. Check in was pleasant at outdoor rec office 6045 Doughboy Loop.

Ar

For Fort Dix Campground: My husband and I spent three nights at the Willow Pond location. There were only 8 spots but never full. The view of the water was nice and large area to walk the dog. Quiet. The base is big with great commissary and BX. The worst part would be finding MWR, no directions provided for that building, one of the RV neighbors was kind enough to take us there as we couldn't get anyone at MWR to answer the phone. Also at present time the directions, after going through Main gate, are not correct due to construction but fortunately there are detour signs. The town around the base is nice with Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, fast food, etc. Local places to check out would be Rita's for great icey ice cream combo and White Point for an old time diner experience with good food and large portions!

For Fort Dix Campground: JBMDL FSS web site boasts that one can stay at a monthly rate of $400. I called to reserve this while on temp duty and was told that the month was actually only 28 days. You then have to move off grounds for one evening and then come back, if space is available. I made the first 28 day reservation and called a couple days later to reserve the remainder of my duty. Was told that my reservation was made by mistake, that they only allowed a 14 day max stay. I cancelled my reservations and filed a formal complaint via the FSS ICE. My complaint was never responded to and there has been no change to the web page regarding cost and max allowable days. There are only about 8 sites located on the Ft. Dix side of the base. They seemed pretty run down (I checked them out after arriving, minus the camper) and the shower house looked terrible. Along with that, there is a major construction project on the east end of the camp, which also restricts entry and exit to one outlet. I am amazed that more sites, better facilities and an adequate policy are not in-place considering the number of temp duty personnel, and nearby attractions (major cities, beaches, six flags). What a letdown JBMDL!!

Morgan

For Fort Dix Campground: Nice lake stocked with bass and playground for the kids but filthy, un-kept bathrooms. Dirty, not maintained and rude front desk.
