For Hyde Memorial State Park: This is one of 5 New Mexico State parks we stayed at on a trip in early May. We were here for a Sunday and Monday night in 2 different campsites. The first night was in a site with electric and those are all collected together in a row and they were fine. Our second night was on the loop with no hookups and it was quite comfortable as on a weekday there were a number of empty campsites and we felt comfortable running our generator when needed. This park is lovely, and has some trails that are very nice. It is on a mountain - you go uphill for several miles to get there and the road through the park continues up the mountain. That being said, the paved campsites are almost all level, so no issues there. A stream runs along the road through the park and while we were there,it was running pretty good, I think with snowmelt, and provided a pleasing babbling brook background. The restrooms/showers were out of order when we were there - I think being remodeled, though I’m not sure about that. May have just been too early in the season. The office was not open, though the rangers were welcoming and had a little makeshift area serving as a temporary office. No cell service for AT&T. One note - the road through the non electric area is dirt and has some steep grades. I spun my wheels at a couple of points in my Class B and it might be worse if it were wet. Just need to be alert to that issue and gather appropriate speed before you get to the hill.

For Hyde Memorial State Park: No potable water at the camp, except for Ranger station. That water was not easily accessible. Visitor center personnel not particularly friendly. Rangers were friendly. Road has a 25 mph speed limit, but thru traffic is doing 35 - 45 mph. We were scheduled for 3 nights, but left a day early.

For Hyde Memorial State Park: Not well kept up, be sure to stop at visitor center or you will end up going up a 10,000 ft mountain with few places to turn. Very, very steep road to get to Hyde Park. We stayed at Black Canyon Forest Service Park just before, (down the mountain,) you get to Hyde Park, much nicer!!
