For Elk Run - El Vado Lake State Park: Pi on Beach campground great for non-electric sites. Spacious sites. Vault toilets. Good sites for solar. We stayed at site 63, a none reservation site during the week in late August. Nice showers at main campground. No phone or internet service. Be sure to be well stocked with groceries as it is about 20 mikes to a store. Ice and wood are available at the campground host. Shoreline is rocky but we were able to get kayak in the water OK. We will go back.

For Elk Run - El Vado Lake State Park: We actually stayed @Heron Lake due to the one bad review. We drove to El Vado to see for ourselves! The road is paved so no worries! It is a long way so, yes, take your supplies. The sites are spacious & open. Most overlook the lake. Not much privacy. Nice facilities & would be great for storm watching & star gazing!

For Elk Run - El Vado Lake State Park: Great park. Lots of space. Road can be rough so get stocked before going in so you do not have to leave.
