For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: Thankfully they now have a reservation system. Visited in mid October with good weather in lower 80's during day. Plenty to see and penty to do. If we return I would stay for three nights. Camping spaces are nicely separated, with shaded picnic tables. I would avoid site 17 as it is on a incline, or more properly a decline. There are some hook up sites, but I don't think they are as nice. Great showers, free.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: It’s difficult to know how to rate this campground. As others have noted, the aesthetics are first rate and if you can snag a site it’s very convenient for visiting the bulk of the park. That said, the lack of a reservation system makes for complete chaos. We arrived at 8:30 am on a mid-March Tuesday, presumably when availability should have been at its best. Not only were all the sites full, there were RVs queuing up just outside the campground ready to strike as soon as their scout radioed about an impending departure. RVs and other vehicles parade through the campground all day cruising for an open spot, making noise and kicking up dust. Do yourself a favor — go to one of the dispersed campgrounds just a few miles east. You’ll have easy access to the park, peace and quiet, and far less frustration.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: This is an awesomely beautiful place. We wedged our 35 foot fifth wheel into space 16, and had a water spigot, with no threads in the site. We managed to use the water with my husband holding the waterline to fill our tank, and used our batteries/inverter/generator combo to stay for a few days as the electric hookup sites were all taken when we arrived on a Monday at about noon. You can easily get a spot in the park mid week, before noon. Lots of nice sites with cool red rocks, all have a shade structure. Lots of variety of site sizes, and a few set up just for tent campers. The park is nice, lots of great hiking. We got to see lots of bighorn sheep. There is a lot to do in the park, and you can also easily get to Lake Mead, too. Cannot wait to come back here again and stay longer and just veg out and starwatch. A great place all should see.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: Atlatl campground review:
When we arrived at 5 pm the signs all say
" campgrounds full"...which they are each night. They NEVER take the signs down! To get a site here (which is no reservations) at both Atlatl and Arch Rock. You have to stay just outside the park boundaries (we stayed at Echo Bay close by) and come in about 9 am. You cruz the loops and can take any unoccupied site that doesn't have a paper stub on it. We had numerous sites to choose from at 10 am. But they are all taken by about noon again. A lot of folks only stay 1 night and then move on (or switch sites) we noticed. We ended up staying 3 nights total at Valley of Fire.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: Very unique landscapes surround the two campgrounds. Part of the fun was just getting to the park. I left Henderson, Nv. via The Lake Mead Recreation Area, Hwy 167, Northside Road, which is a toll road but worth the fee. Restrooms were well kept and the separate shower stalls were private units. No reservations for a camp site. Pay at a box at the campgrounds, no need to go to the Visitors Center for camping information. Verizon was either one bar LTE or if you moved, it would drop to 1X but enough to text most of the time. Btw, save your park receipt to prove you paid the ten dollar entrance fee which you will put inside the registration envelope in order to save ten dollars on camping then, keep your camping receipt to show on the way out of the park. Weird system, poor information signage but great views. Glad I went.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: We camped at site 35 with our 45' fifth wheel. It's a huge site as are the others. Water, 50 Amp service and a communal dump station. Showers looked basic and clean. They also have at least two handy capped sites both are very wide and paved.
The scenery is amazing. The RV water/electric sites are $30/night and $20/ without electric. Be back again soon.

For Atlatl Rock - Valley of Fire State Park: The most picturesque camp ground we have stayed at so far...this area is 100% worth the visit. Ensure you walk from the campsite to the nearby ancient artwork and really soak up the gorgeous atmosphere of this magical place. Clean simple bathrooms and hot showers. All campsites have shade, tables, fires and grill for $20 a site - RV hook ups were also available for $10 more
