Up from FL to visit family in the area. Alum Creek SP is beautiful, campground sites are mostly very private & well-spaced. Shower facilities are older, but were very clean. A few sites have sewer hookups, most not. Many were electric only, so check your site if you need to fill your water tank before setup. Dump and potable water are conveniently located just after the entrance; also a playground and nature center. Biggest downside was the number of unleashed dogs, but overall, a big thumbs up!

Beautiful Campground with spacious level sites. Both roads and site pads are paved. Showers are clean but showing their age. You must make reservations ahead of time. There is a sign as you approach the checkin booth saying if you don’t have a reservation to make one online or by calling their reservation number. Starting around Thanksgiving there is a Fantasy of Lights drive through show.

What a great campground! Stayed here for one night on our way to the Natchez Trace. Our site was B23. Site was concrete pad, level, clean, spacious and near a pond and nature trail. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

I have to say this is one of the nicest state park campgrounds I have been to in Ohio! Staff was super friendly. Camp store was clean and adequate. Roads were paved and well maintained. The campground was really clean. Sites were great!! We had a full hookup site that was level and had plenty of room for our 38’ fifth wheel and truck. Facilities were clean and stocked. Plenty to do around there, swim, fish, boat, volleyball, playground, mini golf, etc…. If you are board here it’s your own fault.

Stayed on a Wednesday evening as stop over to South Bass Island in site G 8. The sight was level and well maintained. Showers were a short walk from the sight and clean. Staff was very helpful at check in and check out. Road G dead ends into the camping beach and access to the trail.

We’ve camped here twice off-peak and had pleasant, quiet, nearly-level electric sites. The park staff were courteous and helpful. Some sites around the edges of the park are near fairly busy roads, so try to get one farther into the campground. There’s often a line to get water when people are arriving, and of course, there’s a line to dump tanks when people are leaving, so try to plan around common arrival and departure times.

Camped one night on a weekend where all sites were booked but there was enough vegetation and space between sites that it did not feel over crowded. Playground equipment looked new and the bathhouse looked like it has been updated within the last few years.

The only thing nice about the campground was the lakefront site...it was pretty. However, they wouldn't let us check in an hour early; something about the site needing to be cleaned up. But they let us drive back there with our car and the site was clean and nobody ever came to the site to clean it; but we still had to wait until 3PM exactly to check in. They tell you only one car per campsite and no parking in the grass, yet all of the campsites around us had multiple cars parked in the grass and even alongside of the road making it very difficult to get a camper through there. And by alongside the road, I mean their car was half on the road. We never saw park rangers of any kind coming around and enforcing any rules. There was lots of drinking, noise, and foul language from late night campers all around us well into the early morning hours. And, they do not keep the trees trimmed up. We scraped the sides and top of our RV horribly getting to our campsite. We will not be going back there!

This is a pretty average Ohio State Park. The sites are a little small in size in my opinion but paved and fairly level. Most are decently secluded. The shower rooms and bathrooms are about what you would find at any state park, not super clean but not completely trashed either. Playgrounds are nice. There are a few hiking trails. Boating on the lake would be a major draw for this campground if that was your intent. Otherwise, my best description of Alum Creek would be as a good base camp if you wanted to venture into Columbus for an event, but not a destination unto itself.
