For Carolina Landing RV Resort: I can't give Carolina Landing five stars because the sites are so close together. Also, our site - A5 - was super unlevel. I felt unsafe with our fifth wheel's two left tires up in the air after auto-leveling. That was a first for us, and hope we never have to do that again. The hill getting up to our site was steep. This place is full of big rigs, however, it is not conducive to them. Every turn is tight. The dog in the camper next to us was allowed to bark nonstop when it came outside. The park staff even texted us after arrival to see how things were going, and also again mid-way through our stay. I mentioned the dog. Nothing happened. The neighbors did manage to hear the dog after about ten minutes each time, and they did put it up, but gosh. That's a lot of unnecessary barking. Currently, the pool is green, but I expect that will change soon. The mini-golf needs some love, but it's in pretty good condition considering some that we've seen other places. The clubhouse, office, bath houses, and laundry are nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The tall tall trees are beautiful. We didn't meet any of our neighbors as almost no one comes out of their campers. The weather was very nice at least 3 of the 8 days we were there. We never saw anyone sitting out around a fire, cooking out, or just hanging out. We saw a few people playing basketball a couple of times, and lots of kids rode their bikes occasionally. We saw a lot of big rigs struggling to get up the hills to park in the A section. If you have a big rig, park somewhere else besides the A section if at all possible. (We paid $0 because this was part of our Thousand Trails membership.)

For Carolina Landing RV Resort: Horrible! What a dump, this and so many other of TT parks. We were told to only look in 2 sections of this park but impossible to get our large RV into those type sites. Thousand Trails looks like it used to be nice but now it pretty much a trailer park with junk stacked up all over. Not for RVers that travel with a large rig. TT is cheap for a reason.

For Carolina Landing RV Resort: Easy check-in and we ended up choosing pull-through full hookup site B12. Yes that is correct: a pull-through site. What a pleasant surprise as these are non-existent in most Thousand Trails parks! We loved the site as it was wide and very level. This park has lots of hills so take it slow when driving. Some of the side roads are unpaved with lots of ruts & damage. The manager is named Donna and she was very kind and helpful. She mentioned that water and electric sites can get free honeywagon service on Thursdays. Wifi is only available near the office and unfortunately it was rather slow. My AT&T phone had 2 bars and the hotspot worked ok. Clubhouse was closed due to Covid-19 but the lodge was open. The B section bathroom & showers were below average. Pool looked decent but we didn't try it.

For Carolina Landing RV Resort: Conviently located near I-85 between Charlotte and Atlanta. Friendly staff. Very poor sites for short term stays. Roads are not well-maintained. For Carolina Landing RV Resort: This park is virtually impossible to find. GPS failed, and there are absolutely NO road signs to help get us on the correct road. GPS simply indicated turn right onto Herring Road at the end of the exit ramp from I-85 North. So we turned right but saw no road going to the right except to a Quik Stop. So we continued to proceed down Dobbins Bridge Road - which then very quickly had signs saying "Dead End". We managed to pull over into a dirt lot and disconnect our Toad, and while there a helpful local pulled in and said "You're looking for the Thousand Trails, right?" Apparently no one can find this place. He said we had to go back to I-85 and turn down the exit ramp to get onto Herring Rd. So we did but did not make any turn there as it looked like we would be turning into it the wrong way - into the Exit ramp. SO we kept going North until we got almost into town. Jumped into the tow car to check it out again. Found out there is a very weird jug handle turn off which goes into the small shopping center there - but NO signs anywhere to indicate what road we were on. But we followed it and it did take us to THousand Trails but we wasted almost an hour trying to find this place due to the worst road layout we have ever encountered. So we were already in a bad mood when checking in. Staff was friendly enough but we could tell they were used to dealing with frustrated RVers who got terribly lost. And then the sites were very hilly, very small and hard to access. Not happy. If traveling here I suggest using Google Maps to study the road layout ahead of time in great detail because your GPS is totally confused and there are no signs anywhere. Better yet - at the exit turn North to go into the town of Fair Play and take Durham Road south - it will cross Herring Road right in front of the T.T.

For Carolina Landing RV Resort: PASS IT BY!! When you call the campground number it automatically sends you to thousand trails. (Normal procedure) We reserved by phone 1.5 hours before our arrival. When we arrived, there was no one in the office, no way to get through the gate so we had to call the number again. And again get National thousand trails. After about a half hour a lady calls and tells us a site to pull into. Which was already taken!! She drove out, seemed frustrated, directed us to another site and took off. No apology. We’d received email and text confirmations immediately after our reservation so I’m sure she did to. Next we find the sewer opening was jammed tight with no way to open it so no full hook up. Then to top it off, we find one of our tow car straps had been removed during the night. We’d just pulled the car 500 miles and it was impossible that it could have just come off. It was purposefully removed. That could have been a disaster for not just us but many people on the interstate. I don’t understand why anyone would EVER pay the money to stay in one of the horrible ENCORE THOUSAND trails “resorts”. What a nightmare. Tight unlevel sites.

For Carolina Landing RV Resort: Difficult to find. No signage at or near exit 4 on I-85. First clue is the campground itself. Sites not friendly to Class A motorhome. Very few transient sites. Spent one night. Will not return.
