For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: We got in late with our class C on our drive home. Plenty of empty spots probably because it’s off season. But it looked like a nice place. I wouldn’t mind going back during summer. The lake is beautiful and the staff were accommodating. The staff even offered to helped my mother hook up the black tank which she accepted. It was fairly quiet. And being able to pull through the spot as opposed to backing into it made it much easier. I however did not get the opportunity to check out the facilities though but based on what I saw it was a very nice place to stay.

For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: Stayed one night heading home. Would like to have stayed longer. Very nice campground! Level sites, good hookups and WiFi worked very well, even streaming video. Staff was very helpful and the lady who showed us to our site did follow covid protocol (didn’t matter to me but other post said they didn’t do it). Would stay again if I was passing through or staying longer. Nice KOA!

For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: The beach was nice, but the lack of coronavirus protocol was really unnerving. Nobody had masks. Very much a free for all, though they did have checkin by phone set up. the camp was full of confederate flags and t**** flags on Fourth of July during a time of widespread national mourning, which was really weird and made me uncomfortable as I have known three different people who have died from the virus. Would not stay here again.

For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: This Campground is a fine example of KOA style but most importantly the people here who make it happen. The staff here are really nice and helpful I cannot believe the attention to detail. The grounds are clean the swimming area is really nice and well kept. We picked a beautiful spot “D1” overlooking beautiful Lake Marion. This morning I went out early and enjoyed a visit from 30 or so Canadian snow geese swimming and feeding right off shore. Dont miss your chance to enjoy this campground. The kids like it so much we are staying another day. I have seen many camp sites good and bad so take my five stars seriously. I am a seasoned Camper and have been a RV camper since 1996 when I got my first camper. A 1979 Volkswagen westfalia pop top camper. I have traveled all over this country and Mexico in my RV or Tent when life got tough. We are now proud owners of our 1978 Airstream Sovereign 36’ stem to stern. And we love the road and we hope to meet you along the way.

For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: This campground is now officially a KOA - the signage is up and the new reservation system is in place. Since it was originally built as a KOA the office and one of the bath houses has KOA’s signature peaked roof. The place is beautiful and facilities look like they had a recent face lift in preparation for the change over. There are some permanent sites scattered throughout but even those looked well cared for. I suspect this place will be popular with the convenience to I-95 and the beautiful setting on the river.

For KOA Journey Santee Lakes: Lakefront CG with great staff, nice pool and lots of trees making for shady sites which are sandy with some graveled. Roomy enough sites, but roads are sand and wind through the pine trees. We liked the more casual, less uniform sites. Nice pier and boat ramp.
