For Mountaineer Campground: We have stayed at the Mountaineer several times over the last 17years. The campground is quite, well maintained and well managed. Large mature trees cover the camping areas and the sites are level. Hookups are close and in good condition. River access is easy, even for sites not directly on the river. Pool and bathhouse are well maintained and clean. The owners keep firewood and ice available for campers to purchase on the honor system. Sites are close together but still easy to back into. As a bonus river tubing, and a great hamburger/ice cream place is few minutes walk next door.

For Mountaineer Campground: Pleasant & quiet place. Small campground that is run by a super nice couple. Safe environment. Full hookup. Everyone was nice, friendly, & helpful. Loved, loved, loved our number 17 water front spot. As far as negatives, the landscape needs to be improved & kept better. I’d stay again if in the area.

For Mountaineer Campground: Enjoyed this place - wish I could have gotten a spot along the river - small campground but clean and quiet - I will be back- 37 ft gulfstream fit perfect and room for my car - 50 amp service
