For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: Great park for the money. Nice concrete pads and large pull throughs. This place is hard to find so call for good directions or you'll get lost. Lots of train noise all hours. Showers could use some Clorox and some scrubbing.

Glo

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: Level sites, clean and shady. Great location, though a challenge to find. Friendly staff.

MeSeaHunt

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: Stayed for four days and other then the noisy trains all night and other misc construction noises we have no major complaints... spaces are easy in/out and plenty of room to the neighbors, no shade as the trees are away from 99% of the spaces. All amenities on base and easy access to interstate, use the nursery gate for directions as it is the easiest to the sites

Jerry from El Paso

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: Great location not far from downtown and pretty much close to everything. Coming into post gates was not a issue, finding RV park even with directions was difficult but we made it. Had an excellent pull through spot close to restroom. Can't beat the price $19 a night. Restrooms were clean but women's side had no AC entire time, but was told that when we checked in. Other than that the park itself is really nice.

Reditch

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: We chose to stay at this Famcamp for lots of reasons, stationed here while on active duty. Amazed at the size of the base, but disappointed in the extremely rough roads on base and in San Antonio. The sites are well space with level concrete pads that have barbecues, tables and heavy duty posts to hang bird feeders or chairs. Bathrooms are clean and we'll maintained didn't use showers as they have no privacy. No WiFi, or cable but really don't need so not an issue for us. As a central spot for exploring San Antonio it's an excellent RV park. Yes they have trains and yes they sound horns. But not every night and not all night. Knowing this we will be back as it's a great park.

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: The RV park has excellent large cement pads, lots of room between sites, some trees but plenty of room to aim your satellite dish. A train track is on one side of park, but it must not be a major line it didn't bother us. This is not an airbase so aircraft were not a problem. The national guard or reserves might have helicopters they use for training some weekends or the hospital might have a life flight sometime, but we didn't experience any aircraft noise during our stays. We didn't have our grandkids but they have a beautiful play ground area that they would have enjoyed. They do have a covered area wifi next to the office but be sure to ask for the password it is posted but is difficult to find where it is posted. Propane is available on site and you leave them next to the filling area and they are filled once a day. We do use the shower area and it was clean and we enjoyed using the handicapped shower that has a folding bench and hose. We did have some confusion with some of the staff on when we had to leave the first time. They were working on getting us another night and forgot to tell us that we could have stayed another night. The staff was helpful but was not always friendly in the way they responded to questions. Some of the roads on post are rough when you bring in your rig. We did find GPS was worthless to get into Rv park. GPS will try to bring you in on Petroleum drive on east. It doesn't have a gate. The GPS will try to take you on post on San Antonio Blvd. from the west. It is also gated. We found Winans Road the easiest gate to use to get into the post. Recommend it highly and if wifi would have been better I would have given it five stars.

01/11/17 Update on trains. Since I posted my last review I have heard more train traffic. It hasn't been a problem for me, but I thought I should at least give an update to my review.

Eunsunkc

For Fort Sam Houston Army RV: While traveling thru this area,we decided to stay here one week, but rec lady said only one night was available, but MANY lots were vacant. They were still vacant the next morning. She offered one more night for 01/05/2017. Trains ran almost on the hour, all night. Helicopters/airplanes were also noisy. Showers were mildewed/dirty.
Rec lady recommended we not use GPS to get here. However, using her directions, we were lost. We did use the GPS and it worked fine.
