For Claiborne West Park: Great spot for a boondock night or two. Super easy off and on if westbound on I-10. Not sure about east bound. Small, manned park with office staff and park ranger. Parking will support several RVs but i think they limit reservations to one per night. Large, level asphalt/ gravel area next to huge picnic shelter. No-one around-quiet night. Nominal charge of $3/night. Office closes early (3:30) but returns calls. Gate closes at 5:00 sharp so make reservations and arrive accordingly. Highly recommend for even biggest rigs. I’m 45’ towing-no issues.

For Claiborne West Park: This is an undiscovered and maybe under appreciated gem hiding in plain sight. Reservations a must for this primitive campground. No water or dumping available. Often free for 1 night stay, multiple nights charged. We arrived late but got a chance to walk the trail system before sunset. Lots of bird life here. We were early in the season so bathrooms closed but port a potties were some of the cleanest we have ever seen. So peaceful even though close to freeway.

For Claiborne West Park: Wow! This is a nice overnight stop. It is primitive and it is good to be self contained. We were the only ones here. The gate closes at 5pm, so be here before then! Bathrooms are nothing to write home about, but we are grateful they had one. No doors on toilet stalls...
