For Escalante Petrified Forest State Park: I have stayed at this campground one week for the past three years . I use to love this park. It was clean and organized. Now, people camp wherever they please including the restroom parking lot and on the service roads. Previously the camp hosts cleaned every site between campers, I have not seen the current hosts do any thing and there campsite is a mess. Restrooms haven’t been cleaned in three days. Some camp worker parked their pickup and utility trailer behind my campsite on the dried out grass for a day. Dogs run wild in the park, no leases used. Loud music is played. This feels more like a homeless camp site than a state park. Apparently, new campground manager. It’s a shame what is happening here

For Escalante Petrified Forest State Park: Wonderful little park by a nice lake. Has an interesting walk through the petrified wood areas and a nice visitor center. Sites are paved, good distance between sites, park is well maintained & clean. Some sites have electricity and water. Dump station just outside the park. Cell phone service from nearby is weak but operable.

For Escalante Petrified Forest State Park: Great hidden gem. Campground was full but we stayed in overflow parking by the lake on our campervan. Restrooms were nice and clean, great showers. Nice short (1.75 mi) trail to hike with lots of wildflowers, petrified wood snd great views. Wifi about avg for campgrounds. Would definitely stay again.
