For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: Watch out for the lock fee of 25 hours. This is a scam where they take $25 to lock your site after you reserve it if you go online and reserve your site there should be no reason why they would need to move you. talking to them they say the computer does it automatically which is BS. Like I said it’s just a scam to get 25 extra dollars out of you.

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: Not awful but definitely not as nice as it seems it should be from the website. Kids running around in their bikes without care of vehicles on road. Beach is a nasty joke. Overall seems a bit run down.

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: DO NOT give any negative reviews of this place any weight!! This is the most perfect campground on the east coast! I have been camping here since 1977… has it changed? You bet!! ALL FOR THE BETTER!!! this place has sooo much to do you will be begging your kids to hang out with you!! Perfect family vacation!!! Wish I could give it 10 stars!!!

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: Danger! Avoid at all costs. Same spot double the price since last year. There were posted signs outside the office that there is dangerous levels of lead in the water in the campground. The gate booth was open and unattended at 4:30 on October 31, 2022, the last day of the season. It was explained by an employee the next morning that the gatekeeper was fired for drinking on the job. Miss the previous owners. We won’t be back. Save your money and go elsewhere.

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: Neat and clean with spacious sites that did not necessarily require straight parking. Hard pan sites were ok in fair weather. They might be messy to n the rain. Our site was difficult to get into due to huge pine trees. Nicely placed on the Bay. The noise at night due to late night parties and noise from little children early in the morning give it only three stars.

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: We were very satisfied with our stay at Cherry Stone. The staff was friendly. The facilities were clean, especially the bath houses. They are at the top of the cleanest bath houses I’ve seen. There’s plenty of entertainment for kids. The WiFi was the best I’ve had at a campground The negatives: if you have 50amp you won’t be able to use the additional plugs on the tower bc the 50amp plug is directly under the outlet. The campground has a nice store but don’t forget anything big bc the only stores within 45 mins is a Food Lion and Dollar General.

Kayaker

For Sun Outdoors Cape Charles: Wow this place is huge!! Luckily we were there doing slow time so it wasn’t very busy. I can’t imagine what it is like when full. Bathrooms were the nicest I’ve ever seen. Huge laundromat. Nice looking pools but they weren’t open yet which was a bummer because we wanted to go swimming. Lots for kids to do-mini golf paddle boats kiddie pool etc. I guess the only reason I did not give it 5 stars as we don’t usually like going to these big huge commercial type campgrounds but state park wasn’t much cheaper and we thought we could swim in the pool and it wasn’t open. ALL the people were super friendly and helpful. Great bicycle rail trail just below pottery store. 4.9 miles paved trail that ends at wildlife refuge center.
