The Grey Goose

For Otter Creek Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: This is a wonderful place to camp if you are wanting a dry camping experience. It was not crowded, shady and had table, fire pit and paved level site. We were near the creek and the evening temperatures were perfect for august…no A/C required. There is NO cell service. And since the sites are very tree covered there likely is no satellite service either. The bathrooms were clean and there is a pumpout and dumpster. This is a National Park and is often not attended…you fill out your paperwork add the 10 ( with senior park pass) or 20 dollar per night fee to the envelope and deposit in drop box. We noticed there were cars that came to the tent site section after dark. Likely people on long drives needing rest and sleep.

TatanaH

For Otter Creek Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: Nice clean rustic campground. No WiFi or cell. We have a 24’ motor home with Jeep in tow and camped by the creek for 3 nights. Nice stop off point to explore historic sites. On site camp hosts, Martha and Dave were fantastic! They told us what to see locally and gave us numerous brochures. There are 2 loops: one for tents and one for RVs with a “comfort station in each area with sinks and toilets, no showers.

Michael Corbin

For Otter Creek Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: This is a lovely and very quiet campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just a mile north of VA route 130 and the James River. Facilities are minimal in that there is neither electric or water on any of the sites, and the bathhouses lack showers. There is water at spigots in several locations as well as an RV dump station, but that is pretty much it. But the campground is beautiful, peaceful, and inexpensive. Roads and car pads are all paved, although much of the pavement is mossy. It is a sleepy, backwater campground that is one of our favorite campgrounds.
