For Candy Hill Campground: I recently stayed at Candy Hill on my way North for the summer. I have stopped there for the last four years I have a dear friend in her 80’s that lives in the area and we get together have a cookout and catch up. My issue is that they charge $8.00 for a guest. Not 5 or 6 but $8.00. I just can’t get past the amount. I know campgrounds charge for guest because they might use the pool etc.I also know they don’t want to many guests which might turn into a loud party. Here’s my advice limit campers to 2 guests and stop taking advantage of your customers. I will not be coming back. This along with $5.00 for good internet $10.00 to hold a site number if you book on line. Shame on you!

Steve

For Candy Hill Campground: Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, checkin was a breeze, they offer LP service where they pick up your tank, fill it and return it to you. Happened so fast I couldn’t believe it! And they have their own chickens here that lay their own fresh eggs - $3/dz - couldn’t say no. Also have a couple mobile RV recommendations if that service is needed. We’re in E3, a concrete pad with full hookups. Near the highway, yes, but we wanted an easy on/off situation as part of a longer travel plan so the highway noise was expected and no big thing. Wish we were staying longer and probably will at some future date. The team here is really great - totally recommend!!

For Candy Hill Campground: Stayed here 2 nights (5-7 Oct) just to get our rig out and try some things out before our upcoming (longer) trip. Place was recommended by friends. The Good: we didn’t run into any of the “rude staff” others have mentioned - everyone was either friendly or polite to us. Our camping neighbors on either side were 2 spaces away (we were in site A-9.) All neighbors were also friendly. This is a dog friendly campground with a nice dog run. They have firewood for sale at a reasonable price and they bring it to your site (along with a metal fire ring). They do have play areas for kids, an arcade, a public bath with nice shower stalls for free use to campers, camp store with supplies and souvenirs, and a pool (which we obviously didn’t use). The park was well maintained. The not so good: if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this place is not it - at least not in A loop. You are about 200 yards off route 37 and traffic barrels down that road at all times of the day and night and there are very few tree or obstacles to break the sound. Campsites in A loop are right on top of each other. Again, we were looking for a quick getaway and this scratched the itch. Would we go there again? Maybe, but only if we were in loop C (there’s a hill to block the sound from the road a bit), if we were going with other friends to hangout and go see some sights/catch a concert or something like that.

For Candy Hill Campground: This place is horrible, possibly the worst RV park I’ve ever stayed in! The owners and most of the staff are grumpy and rude (except for Eddie, he was the best and always very friendly to us.) They charge you for everything- every little thing! My mom wanted to come pick up her grandkids and they said she had to pay $6 to walk across the park to our RV to get them. We will never come back- I would avoid it at all costs if you can!

Virginia RV

For Candy Hill Campground: Will ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Very accommodating making a reservation, friendly staff, level concrete pad with full hookups, very clean and well maintained. Never heard highway traffic inside our RV. Super Walmart across the street. Great place.

For Candy Hill Campground: If you like Barney Fife and Mall cops, you will enjoy staying at this park. Multitude of nit-pick rules!
