For Brooks Memorial State Park: Nice little park! Not much privacy here, and you’re under power lines in some sites, but it was nice and quiet at night, and the host, Dutch, is a sweet gem! We walked across the road and hiked for about 5 miles RT, beautiful! I’d stay here again.

For Brooks Memorial State Park: A nice small State Park in a forest setting. Very convenient and restful stop if traveling on US Route 97. The camp amenities are “basic” but adequate. It doesn’t appear to be a park that gets a huge amount of use or is very well known. However it does seem to be consistently used, possibly more by local families than tourists. The RV Dump is not well marked. It’s on a narrow paved access, just a short distance inside the park from the highway, off to the right from the park’s main road. It’s functional, but is located on a slight incline, so most vehicles will be facing uphill when emptying their waste tanks, possibly making it difficult to completely empty tanks. There is also a fresh (potable) water faucet just forward of the waste dump inlet. The rv dump and entire park are open seasonally, best to check ahead for status. If you’re headed north, a much better year-round RV dump is at the I-82 hwy Rest Area just north of Yakima. If heading south, Maryhill State Park south of Goldendale WA also has a much better RV dump. Also just south of Brooks Memorial SP, on US 97 is the “St. John Monastery and Bakery”. The bakery is run by the nuns of the Greek Orthodox Monastery next door. Stop in for delicious pastries and coffee.

For Brooks Memorial State Park: Very nice campground. Paid $35 a night for off season. We were there second weekend of April. Everything was very green and very beautiful. Campground was very quiet only a few people there. Camp host was good and friendly. Nice small trails there to walk with the kids and dogs. There is only a handful of RV sites that is in the trees the rest are in a grass area. We will be going back again.

For Brooks Memorial State Park: The only problem with this park was the expense. $40 a night for electric and water hookups ONLY was too much and kept us from staying another night. The park is very pretty though and very peaceful.
