For Tekamah City Park: Could’ve used 50 amp when we were there for several weeks midsummer 2012, as the heat and humidity with only one RV air conditioner on was hard on us Northwesterners not used to it, and caused some issues with our coach electronics. It was a bit of a long hose run to the water, but we had two collapsible hoses with us. It was a great base of ops for family history research as my father was born in Tekamah and raised in Decatur. Every few days was a ride to Decatur, and we could’ve stayed in their nice park, but Tekamah has the largest museum and the county courthouse, and the nearby library. I spent many hours perusing microfilms and old documents, assisted by competent clerks. The town market is small but adequate for our needs while there, and they sold huge hunks of my favorite cheese at a a quarter of what I was used to on the West Coast. From Tekamah you can toad in any direction to many interesting sites. During days and evenings the baseball fields were active for unique entertainment right out the front windshield, or go watch from a bleacher. We got good off-air TV reception or watched rental movies or our owned ones. After hot mornings, the large trees in the park offered welcome afternoon shade, and at night fireflies sparkled across the lawns. We didn’t partake, but the swimming pool was tempting and a short walk away. The nearby ice cream shop was often a great reprieve after a long hot day. The RV site cost then was $8 or $10 and easily paid at a city building near the post office as I recall.
