For Marathon Campground: Pothole city. The City of Steward waterfront campgrounds are all much the same. Deplorable . Huge potholes , poor drainage , no apparent maintenance . Half the space at twice the cost of other dry campgrounds in Alaska. Yes, the waterfront views are awesome. That does not justify this ripoff by the City of Steward. The city shoukd be ashamed.

For Marathon Campground: Huge pot holes all over the parking area. Actual campsites ok. You can only reserve on-line. Prices have gone up. $40 for dry camping, $55 for electric. No doubt views are pretty great.

For Marathon Campground: Even though we didn't arrive until mid-afternoon we were able to score a waterfront site in the Marathon section. What an amazing view! Even though it's pretty tight camping, and a little noisy, that view is worth it all. We had friendly neighbors so really enjoyed the evening campfire watching the bald eagles and sea otters right out front. For twice the price one can have water and electric just down the beach. But we didn't think it was worth it to run the microwave and electric coffee pot. The campground host was friendly and quite helpful. I want to go back!!

Doug

For Marathon Campground: The views here are AMAZING! 99 spots right on Resurrection Bay. Half of the spots have electricity and water. The other half are dry (there is also a tent camping area). It is a big parking lot, but the sites are large. Costs $40 a night for utilities, and $20 for dry camping during summer. Half price in the spring and fall. You can usually find a spot, except 4th July weekend, and the Salmon Derby in mid August - just may not be one of the prime spots. Highly recommended

Walt

For Marathon Campground: A space, if available during Salmon season, will be your piece of shared dirt and gravel for the duration of your stay. The view is tremendous the town somewhat quaint but the great outdoors it ain't. The operant words are"RV Parking lot Camping"
