For Lions Beach - Elephant Butte Lake State Park: Nice area but the shower and restrooms were horrible, old and rundown and smelled badly. All good if you are self sufficient and don’t need to use the facilities. Most sites are reservation only. Would not recommend and won’t be back

Lori

For Lions Beach - Elephant Butte Lake State Park: Very nice campground. Spacious, level sites. Great shaded picnic tables. Sites are close together with very little vegetation privacy between sites. This was not a problem for us as we were here first week of March and lots of vacant sites. Cell coverage good(even with Sprint!). WiFi marginal. Beautiful views. We stayed in Lions Beach in a 32ft travel trailer.

For Lions Beach - Elephant Butte Lake State Park: This is a great spot to camp. Wonderful vistas, peaceful, serene, The campsites are mostly level and spacious. Paid $14. Camped in a 40 foot motorhome.
Since it was the weekend, many sites were reserved, we drove around several loops and found a site that was available.

For Lions Beach - Elephant Butte Lake State Park: This state park worked well for us. Just stayed one night in our 40' MH. We didn't have a reservation, so we had to drive around and look for a site with a "OK for one night green tag" on it. Spacious sites. Water and electric, and easy dump stations outside each loop. Wonderful views.
