For Shady Pines - St Joseph Peninsula State Park: WOW! They really did the rebuild of this park right….. beautiful, level, widely spaced sites with full services. I snagged one of the two paved ADA sites. There are also two pull thru sites on opposite corners. Sites on the outside of the loop back to marsh and beach hills. Center sites lack shade … the trees are planted but will take time. Sadly I don’t see anything to remind me of the old camp …. But tomorrow I will visit the fabulous beach.

For Shady Pines - St Joseph Peninsula State Park: Except for the no-see-ums, aka sand fleas, this is the most wonderful beach park, miles of trails, beaches, birds, clean bathhouses, laundry. The beautiful beaches are natural, sand dunes. Fisher people and sunbathers alike enjoyed the beach. Sand fleas are small enough to slip thru screens, sneak into your mouth while speaking, up your nose, into your eyes. We had to keep windows closed and AC on to sleep, sadly missing the surf sounds.

For Shady Pines - St Joseph Peninsula State Park: An absolutely gorgeous campground just a short walk from pristine, pure white, calm beaches. We only knocked a star off because this campground has a good amount of standing water and that leads to quite a lot of small biting insects. Otherwise it couldn't be more beautiful! And the showers are decent.

For Shady Pines - St Joseph Peninsula State Park: We stayed here 2 weeks in January 2016. Our favorite place so far! The only reason we didn't give a 5 star review is because the dump station was too far away. We did find another tank dump at the other bath house in the park, but pulling the tank through sand was NO Fun. Pulling the tank by truck was not possible at this station and was a mile or more away for the main dump station. Otherwise, this park is beautiful! The ocean is just over the dunes - a short walk from our campsite. Temps in january were awesome! 60ish. Concrete, level pads for parking. Decent cell reception, no wifi - Using a cell booster helped a LOT. Quiet, secluded, tropical sites. Just beware of raccoons and armadillos! Friendly staff, quiet campground, nice atmosphere. We love this place and will be back for sure!
