For Lakeside - Lake Bronson State Park: It was a nice park "once" but is beginning to show it's age.... The Lakeside portion of the campground is pretty much all reserved sites now. You are hard pressed to find a site on the weekend by Friday, most everything is taken. Lots of people dropping off units before the weekend because the non reserve sites are all that is left. The garbage is not emptied often enough, often overflowing with evidence that some rodent or feral cats have gotten to trash left about or managed to take out thru gapping holes in the dumpster. The only modern washroom/shower facility for the 40 + sites is VERY run down and in need of major repairs. There are far too many seasonal occupants dictating the campground policy. We were first denied the WiFi code because we were in the extension portion not the Lakeside portion.... We had to explain that we were not planning on sitting at a picnic table to stream a movie, simply check emails... We visited from Sunday to Thursday, there were only 10 sites with anyone in them.... Not much competition for the wifi signal so not sure why the secrecy, password is parkcamping!
The park rules clearly state NO outside source of firewood permitted, but apparently the rules do not apply to the seasonal campers. The limit of one vehicle per site rules apparently also do not apply to the seasonal sites. Most have far more than a few extra vehicles, and none appear to have purchased a day pass or have as seasonal pass. The weekends are VERY noisy with boats and jet ski's but, if that is what you like. You should be right at home if, you can get in. Watch out for the poison ivy!
