For Cub Lake Campground 1 - Natchez Trace State Park: Make certain you arrive prior to the 4:30 PM office closing because there is no one to help locate a site after that. Signage is lacking. Signs are posted usually when you get to the entrance of a location but nothing directing you from the road in. You can drive ten miles inside the park with only a speed limit sign and no directionals. Online maps and campground signs may be different. As an example, you may reserve a Cub Lake site but the signs will say Campground 1. Cub Lake sites are small and the road in looks like a small service road. Site 22 could require 4WD to get out without sliding into the lake. Witt all that in mind, it’s a beautiful park. The Rangers are very friendly and the areas are very clean. The facilities are in good working order. A great relaxing location when kids are back in school. TN does a fantastic job keeping their parks so nice without charging an entrance fee. Thanks TN.

For Cub Lake Campground 1 - Natchez Trace State Park: This is a unique campground. The campground road runs along the spine of a small wooded ridge on a peninsula that juts into Cub Lake. The lake is small but pretty, good for kayaks and canoes. During the season it looks like you can rent paddle boats, maybe canoes and rowboats, but we were there after Labor Day. The campsites are perched along either side of the ridge road with drop offs all around. This is small rig territory, I can see why there is a 25’ length limit. No way to turn around anything bigger, and the sites would be too small. Look online at a map of the park, you’ll see there are walking bridges across the two arms of the lake by the campground. This place might be very busy during the summer; in October, it was beautiful and peaceful. But they sold us Very Green wood, that was annoying.

For Cub Lake Campground 1 - Natchez Trace State Park: Nice wooded site near lake with a swim beach. Site was spacious, but road to sites was tight. We stayed in a 35' travel trailer. Tank flush hook-up was broken and ineffectively "repaired" with tape.

For Cub Lake Campground 1 - Natchez Trace State Park: Beautiful wooded forest land. Stayed one night passing through. Stayed in lakeside campsite. Clean, quiet. Only complaint was we got in late in the dark (my fault) and found hard to find campsite with limited signage. It's a long 11 mile drive from I 40. Nice stay. Would come back again.
